Automatic Train Stop, as a device that automatically stops the train, is one of the devices that guarantee safe and efficient train operation when the train exceeds the signal speed or operates, ignoring the signal system. We are supplying ATS On-board Signaling system that relied on overseas technology, by the localization with a redundancy system. The components of On-board Signaling System consists of ATS Rack, ADU, ATS Antenna, ATS Antenna Junction Box and Tachometer.

  • Aspect Display Unit(ADU)
    The driving information such as current speed and the speed limit of the vehicle is displayed and notifies the driver of the audible warning according to the situation depending on the information transmitted from on-board ATS Rack installed in the driver’s compartment.

  • ATS Rack
    It consists of a redundancy system of 1 system (main operating system) and 2 system (auxiliary operating system) to control ATS function and interfaces to each other between vehicles and components.
  • ATS Antenna
    It is a device to transmit the variation signal to ATS Rack responding to the ATS wayside coil on the control point.
  • ATS Junction Box
    It is an intermediate connection between the ATS Antenna and ATS Rack and makes it easy to install and maintain the wiring.
  • Tachometer
    It generates pulses according to the rotation of the wheels, and the On-board Signaling System calculates the speed of the train using the pulse signals of the tachometer.

    Speed Limitation Recognization

    It sets the driving limit speed using intermittent control system by responding to the wayside coil with ATS antenna installed in the lower part of the vehicle.

    Computation of Train Speed

    It computes the speed with the signal from the Tachometer and the value of wheel diameter.

    Neutral Section Recognition

    If the signal of a neutral section is detected on the wayside, it will transmit neutral section information to the vehicle.

    Self-Test

    It provides test function for safe operation of the train through operating the ATS system in a virtual sequence of operations before the vehicle leaves the base and checking abnormality of signal and braking device in advance.

    System design

    It is possible to operate without any change since it is automatically switched to the standby system in case of operating system failure in operation.

    Interface

    Aspect Display Unit displays the operation information such as the speed limit on a 10.4" Touch TFT-LCD and notifies the driver of the audible warning according to the situation. Emergency operation, 15km/h operation, and a pre-departure test can be operated.

    Operation Event Record Function

    When a failure occurs, it is easy to identify the cause, and it can be used for maintenance work since various driving events occurred during train operation are saved in memory. Information can be downloaded with LAN, using dedicated Software.
